Change And Delete Posts If You Want To

One of the blogosphere's unwritten rules that I have never understood, or rather liked, is the "don't change, if you change say exactly what, never delete"-rule. I'm talking, for example, about the idea that if you change anything you should need to do this over the old stuff.

I could talk about this for a while, but read Teal Sunglasses instead. Chuq makes it so obvious that we should change and delete posts (in rare cases, I'd like to add, and I think Chuq means that to):

"So you may believe that blog entries are permanent -- you'll never convince me of that. To me, the blog is a public representation of who I am and what I think and believe. Anything that doesn't fit into that shouldn't be there. And that means if I decide it's not up to my standards, or if I (gasp) change my mind, or learn new information -- I reserve the right to make those changes online as well. To think that blog entries, once posted, shouldn't be changed or deleted implies that the information in them is correct and complete from the first moment, and that the person writing them never changes their beliefs or opinions."
